EDSON FOREST AREA WILDFIRE UPDATE | June 16, 2019
The Edson Forest Area (EFA) currently has 1 active wildfire. EWF043, which is located 40 km south east of Edson is classified as Under Control.
Wildfire EWF033, which was located near Marlboro is Extinguished as of June 6th.
Since March 1, 2019, there have been 49 wildfires in the EFA which has burnt approximately 263.84 ha.
EWF043 WILDFIRE UPDATE | June 18, 2019
Wildfire EWF043 which is located approximately 40 km south east of Edson and 29 km west of Cynthia remains Under Control.
Fire EWF043 remains on patrol status. Firefighters continue to monitor the fire perimeter for smoke or hotspots and may conduct aerial heat scanning via drone, helicopter or fixed wing plane, to locate smoldering ground fires. Patrols will continue until they are certain that the fire is completely extinguished.

FIRE BAN & OHV RESTRICTION LIFTED
The fire ban and OHV restriction within the Edson Forest Area has been lifted as of June 4th, 2019 (4:00 p.m). We ask that you visit albertafirebans.ca to stay informed as some parts of Alberta remain under a fire ban and OHV restriction.
If you are heading to the outdoors and plan on having a campfire, we ask that you build your campfire in a safe location, out of the wind and away from dry grass and debris. Keep a shovel and a pail of water nearby in case your fire gets away. Most importantly, never leave your campfire unattended and if you see smoke or flame in the forest, report it to 310-FIRE (3473).

PROVINCIAL WILDFIRE UPDATE | June 18, 2019
There are currently 29 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. 4 are out of control, 9 are being held, 13 are under control and 3 have been turned over to the responsible parties.
Since March 1, 2019, Alberta has recorded 618 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta that have burned a total of 794,723.97 hectares.
Fire Danger Rating: Very High to Extreme in the northern boreal zones. Low to Moderate elsewhere.
Agriculture and Forestry has the following resources deployed on wildfires or pre-positioned across the province ready to action new wildfires: 2383 firefighters and support staff, 195 helicopters, 22 air tankers and 277 pieces of heavy equipment.
Agriculture and Forestry is currently being supported by imported resources from the following provinces and agencies: British Columbia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, Northwest Territories, Newfoundland, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, CIFFC, Parks Canada and the United States.
